Mr. Bernstein represents American, European and Asian companies engaged in a wide range of manufacturing, sales and service businesses. Drawing on more than 40 years of experience as an international business lawyer, he provides sophisticated corporate and commercial legal advice in complex domestic and transnational transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, intellectual property and technology licensing, equipment sales and leases, and joint venture, shareholder, partnership and LLC operating agreements. Mr. Bernstein's extensive network of contacts throughout the U.S. legal, business and financial communities enables him to bring added value to client engagements. Through his contacts, his clients have been introduced to commercial banks and investment banks and to firms specializing in real estate brokerage, accounting, venture capital, insurance, fulfillment services, executive search, management consulting, human resources consulting, marketing and public relations. Mr. Bernstein regularly functions as his clients' outside general counsel, advising them on legal and business strategies and coordinating the implementation of those strategies.

Educational and Professional Background

Mr. Bernstein is a graduate of Amherst College, cum laude, and Harvard Law School. He has represented American and European companies for over forty years, including serving as a director of several of their U.S. subsidiaries. He was the managing partner of a large New York law firm and a partner in a leading international Swedish law firm. In these diverse roles he has developed a deep understanding of European social and commercial customs and unique empathy for the European perspective and approach to business.
